Washing

  • Turn Inside Out: Always turn the garment inside out before washing to protect the print.

  • Cold Water: Use cold water to prevent the ink from fading or cracking.

  • Gentle Cycle: Opt for a gentle cycle to minimize wear and tear.

Drying

  • Air Dry: Air drying is the best option to preserve the print. Avoid direct sunlight.

  • Low Heat: If using a dryer, choose a low heat setting to prevent damage.

Ironing

  • Avoid Direct Contact: Do not iron directly on the print. Turn the garment inside out or place a cloth over the print.

  • Low Heat: Use a low heat setting to avoid melting the ink.

Storage

  • Cool, Dry Place: Store screen printed items in a cool, dry place to prevent moisture damage.

  • Avoid Folding on Print: Try not to fold the garment directly on the printed area to avoid creases.

General Tips

  • Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use bleach or strong detergents that can damage the print.

  • Handle with Care: Be gentle when handling the garment to avoid stretching or pulling the print.

Custom Screen Printing Process

The screen printing process involves several steps:

  1. Design Creation: The first step is to create the design that will be printed. This is usually done using graphic design software.

  2. Screen Preparation: A screen (mesh stencil) is prepared by coating it with a light-sensitive emulsion. The design is then transferred onto the screen using a UV light source, which hardens the emulsion in the areas not covered by the design.

  3. Setting Up the Screen: The screen is placed on a printing press, and the material to be printed on (such as a t-shirt) is positioned underneath.

  4. Applying Ink: Ink is applied to the screen, and a squeegee is used to push the ink through the mesh stencil onto the material below. Each colour in the design requires a separate screen and layer of ink.

  5. Drying: Once the ink is applied, the printed material is dried using a heat source to cure the ink and ensure it adheres properly.

  6. Quality Check: The final product is inspected for any imperfections or inconsistencies in the print.
